- Internship (2019)
During the summer of 2019 I worked in the engineering department of Aquatec California for four weeks. Aquatec is a world leading manufacturer of precision diaphragm pumps and related flow control components. They are one of the few remaining manufacturers producing everything in-house in Southern California, supplying original equipment manufacturer customers in over 30 countries. Applications include medical devices, automotive care and performance and solar water pumping.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the team at Aquatec and gained valuable experience as well as a deeper knowledge into the manufacturing and engineering industry.
In my role as an intern I was tasked with the following:
3D modelling and printing parts for an automated beer brewing system
Using AutoCAD to create a layout of the production line to help the reconfiguration of the manufacturing floor to move towards lean manufacturing techniques
Engineering troubleshooting of under-performing equipment
Research and development of new prototype pumps seeking out potential new markets and applications
Filming and editing video content to improve the customer troubleshooting experience
Some of the work I completed is classified as proprietary material (e.g. labelled plant layout, CAD parts) therefore I am not able to show it in its entirety. A few examples of my work can be seen in the images above.
